Bring your A game
Celebrating 20 years

The date is almost upon us – Friday 29th June 2018, and as well as another big year for the golf, Carlo & Co. is celebrating its 20th anniversary in June – a very proud landmark for us, so a big thanks to all our wonderful customers.

The venue remains the same at the beautiful Old Fold Manor in Barnet. The format will be the same with up to 100 golfers in two teams, Team Carlo v Team Phil in a head-to-head match play – and with the score at 2-1 in Team Phil’s favour, it’s all to play for. Will you bring back that valuable point to your captain that may win the championship, or will you be hanging your head in shame walking off the 18th?

We will have a double decker coach to transport you there and back from outside the Royston shop. You’ll be provided with a team golf shirt for you to keep and a Carlo & Co. Titleist golf ball for you to hopefully not lose. Bacon rolls, teas and coffees to fuel up before we start followed by a barbecue on the patio after the golf. We’ve got holidays and a car to win, so hone in that swing and let’s have a winner this year!

We’ll round the day off with some fantastic prizes and a charity auction, so bring loads of cash with you. This year we have one of the UK’s most sought after mainstream comedians, Adger Brown to entertain us so you’re in for a treat!

Places will go within days so the only way to secure your spot is to email us with your details and forward payment ASAP – account details in the grey box to the right (or below if you’re looking at this on a phone). It will be a strictly first come first served event so to avoid disappointment, get in quickly!

If you are unable to make the day could you be kind enough just to respond to tell us and we can remove you from the list.

Let’s make a difference

This year we want to raise money for Hadley Clawson – the Godson of a good friend of Carlo’s who lives in Letchworth. A 12 year old boy who up until the age of 22 months was a seemingly fit and healthy child, until a rare form of epilepsy struck. His skills and development were slowly taken away as he suffered 1,000’s of seizures per week. Not only has he lost the ability to speak and walk, Hadley now has another new and unexpected issue to deal with – he has developed severely low bone density which means breaking a bone just by leaning on it, a difficult realisation to come to terms with. We’re hoping that your generosity can go some way to helping Hadley with the items that will make a massive difference to his everyday life, in particular a new bed to help at home and a new lightweight specialist wheelchair.

Team Paula, Sepsis Trust
Any money we raise above £10k will be donated to The UK Sepsis Trust. Paula Noble, the wife of local man Gary Noble who many of you will know, was a fit and healthy 57 year old but sadly died last May due to Sepsis – within 24 hours of being admitted to hospital. Sepsis is a potentially fatal condition that can be triggered by something as simple as a cut, insect bite or infection. In the UK, Sepsis causes more deaths per year than Bowel, Breast and Prostate cancer combined. Your money will help raise awareness and improve the survival rate of those who are unfortunately diagnosed with Sepsis.

SPONSORSHIP OPPORTUNITIES

There are some great sponsorship opportunities for the day and remember it all goes towards helping both our causes.

Golf shirt sponsor – £250
There will be 100 shirts printed with your company name or logo for all to admire!

Banner – £150
Get your name/logo on a background banner that each 4-ball will have a photo in front of.

Hole sponsor – £50
There will be an A3 sized framed advert of your company on your chosen hole

Brochure advert  – £30 quarter page, £60 half page
Every player and person involved with the day will get a brochure with details of the day and a score page to fill in, so a great opportunity to get in front of some prospective customers!

Auction Prizes
The majority of the money we raise comes from the prizes, experience days or services that are generously donated. We really want to raise as much as possible, so anything you can offer for our auction will be hugely appreciated – and we’ll do our best to promote you or your business. A BIG PRETTY PLEASE TO ALL.

A HUGE THANK YOU

Last year we raised an astonishing £20,000 for Charlie Shirran. Thank you once again, and if you needed proof that we can really make a difference then read what his family had to say…

“We are absolutely thrilled to be able to tell you that with your very kind and generous donations, Charlie made it to New York last summer for the start of his life saving vaccination programme. We pray that this treatment will continue to hold him in remission of his aggressive cancer, high risk neuroblastoma. He has now almost completed this vaccination programme and is due to have his last injection later this month! His last full body scans were showing Charlie to be NED (no evidence of disease)! We are simply overjoyed at how well Charlie has responded.

Charlie will be 3 next month and he has grown in to a cheeky and very noisy little man! It is absolutely wonderful to see him like this. His paediatric cancer treatment was extremely intensive but whatever was thrown at him, he always came out smiling!

Thank you again from the bottom of our hearts to everyone who supported Carlo’s golf day last year. We will be forever grateful.

With love and best wishes, Charlie’s family.”
